The surviving plants were crossed and resulted in a cultivar capable of withstanding extreme adverse conditions. It is used in many New Zealand stadiums including Wellington Park (Westpac Stadium)
- Ceretec Centurion is the sister variety of Colosseum with all the same traits including being winter active. Slightly darker in colour all year round (mid-dark green).
